SHARE Backgrounds for Remote Meeting
SHARE has created a few backgrounds for remote meetings, which you can use to support the SHARE negotiating team in their efforts to negotiate good raises and other contract items. The backgrounds, and instructions for using them, are attached.
Current Update
As you know, the main focus of these contract negotiations has been getting step raises for SHARE members. Step raises are an additional raise, on top of the usual July across-the-board raise, that moves pay rates up until you get to the grade max.
We recently got a proposal from the management negotiating team that included a step system – a big step forward since this is the first time we have seen that. Now we are talking with the management team about some of the crucial details: How big are the steps? How high do they go? How do we transition from our old system to a steps system?
We don’t have an agreement on these issues yet, but the conversation has been civil, and we are making progress. We hope to have more information at the member meetings next week.
